Making our community stronger through open communication
Windgate Village Newsletter
Community Notice
The WGV Board would like to make our community aware of a few incidents that have occurred in Windgate over the past couple of weeks.
There was a fire in the bulk trash area that seems to have originated in a cooking pan. The Grandview Heights fire department was onsite and contained the fire. Minimal damage was done.
The Police Department responded to a call from a home owner on Kings Court that found a bullet hole in his front door. The home owner was not at home at the time of the shooting and not one was injured.
There have been a spat of car break-ins in our local community. In Grandview Heights City Schools, Upper Arlington City schools and OSU to name a few sites, individuals broke side windows of cars seeking valuables. Unfortunately, on Saturday morning our community was a victim of these crimes. Please ensure that you remove all valuables or items that could be confused as value from your cars.
In response to these incidents, the WGV board has instructed our management company to install cell-capable cameras around the property. These will not be used as surveillance but will provide much needed security for our homes and hopefully bring some peace of mind to our residences.
NEWSLETTER HIGHLIGHTS
It has come to the board’s attention that electric cars are being stored and likely charged in garages on the property. We welcome this for the health of our environment but historically, electricity used in the garages has been paid for owners of garages through separate HOA fees. If you are charging a car in your garage, you are placing an unfair burden on your fellow residents and we ask that you contact Paterson Merkle to discuss what you can do to remedy the situation.

Communication
The board has set up a new email address for residents of WGV to contact us. It is
windgatevillageboard@wgvcolumbus.com
Using this, our community will have an archive of communication between our residents, the board and our management company, that can be used by future boards to refer to. We hope to create a repository of knowledge about our community that can be referred to and used to make decisions moving forward.
We have also set up a website www.wgvcolumbus.com, which residents can use to access our bylaws and rules and regulations, access architectural forms and receive announcements from the board and our community.
